Our popular special edition week with Chloe Walsh is back and we couldn't be more excited! Join us for a week of surfing, movement, and delicious food in Biarritz from 1–6 of September, 2026. A true bonbon week designed for all the foodies out there!
Biarritz in September is magical, when the water is warm, summer temperatures linger, and there are fewer people around. And don't get us started on the produce... <3
Our retreats are a mix of everything that makes you feel good; Think wellness with a generous sprinkle of hedonism. We'll spend the week enjoying days in the ocean, homemade dinners cooked by Chloe, afternoon apéros, and exploring everything Biarritz has to offer. Throw in a beachside picnic, sunset with bubbles, and early morning croissants on the way to surf, and you get the picture. We believe in bringing joy back as an integral part of wellness, movement and life in general <3
An intimate and curated trip where it's less about all the organized program, and more about just feeling like you are on a trip with friends, enjoying life a little extra for a week.
This retreat is open for all genders and levels in surf & yoga. Limited spots available <3

The Location
Biarritz, nestled in the Basque Country right next to the Pyrenees, is a laidback surf town with stunning beaches, charming boutiques, and a lively atmosphere. The weather is variable, with hot, sunny days and occasional rain, which keeps the environment lush and green.
Casaviel, our retreat home between Biarritz and Bidart, is a charming stone house just a short walk from the beach, offering cozy accommodations, a beautiful garden, and delicious breakfasts prepared by our wonderful hosts, Lucas and Diane. The house is a 10 min bus ride or 30 min walk from Biarritz centre, with the bus stop right next to the house.
The food
At our retreats, we bring joy to wellness through food. For some of the dinners we have wine pairings, often highlighting local and natural wines.
We are so incredibly excited to have our favourite chef Chloe to cook for us during this special edition! Chloe is a NYC-based chef and food stylist. She studied at the Italian culinary institute in Calabria, Italy, and has been recipe-developing and working as a freelance chef full-time for the past 6 years. Her food is vegetable-forward with the occasional protein or fish taking center stage, and simply just delicious.

The Surf
At our retreats, we offer surf lessons for beginner and intermediate + levels with our amazing surf teacher Johanna and her team, at our beautiful home beach Erretegia. Originally from Sweden, Johanna has lived in Biarritz for over 25 years, and has years of teaching experience. She runs a local surf school with her husband Christoph here in Biarritz and spends her winters ski guiding in the Alps. Dream!
We'll surf every day following the tides and conditions, whether that’s at sunrise, after a slow breakfast, or in the evening with a beautiful sunset. -
The Yoga
Yoga perfectly complements surfing, balancing the mind and body. Led by Maria Eskitxabel, a wellness expert with a background in functional nutrition, the sessions blend Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin, and breathing techniques. Maria sees yoga as self-therapy, helping you reconnect through breath and movement.
Each session is personalized to suit all experience levels, ensuring a fulfilling practice for everyone. The yoga is held in the garden behind the house, or inside the main room.

Yes, we welcome everything from first timers to intermediate + surfers. Our surf lessons with our amazing surf teachers Johanna and Christoph, are divided into groups following the guests' level.
The weather in Biarritz in May and June is usually around 20-22+ degrees during the days and 15 celsius during the nights. In October, the weather is usually more stable and a bit warmer, with temperatures around 22+ and a bit warmer evenings than in the beginning of summer. The water is warmer in the fall than in the spring, so most of the days you’ll only need a short wetsuit. In the spring we normally recommend a 3’2 long wetsuit.
As both the ocean and mountains surround the area (which is what makes it so special and beautiful) the weather can sometimes be hard to predict. We’ve had retreats in May with +25 degrees everyday and sun and we’ve had retreats in June and July with more rain.
As a common rule the waves are softer in the summer and have more power in the fall, but even this changes a lot. We always have a spot to go to with more sheltered waves if the waves happen to be bigger.
The yoga is a mix of Hatha, Yin and Flow sessions by the lovely Maria Eskitxabel. The yoga sessions are adapted after the group, and take into consideration the surf activity during the day. We’ll have sessions that are more demanding and other sessions that are more restorative and meditative.
